During a recent expedition to the Mountains of Wind, the party had an unfortunate run-in with a strange, enigmatic and extremely powerful figure who seemed wholly focused on his mysterious studies. When the party was captured by this figure, he took notice that Smodi seemed to share a bond with one of the creatures he was experimenting on. Despite the party's best efforts to stop him, the figure removed Smodi's right eye and swallowed it whole.
